Hotel Agua Serra

JecoPalm Office
The earthen volumes and the passage between them
Aljezur remembers everything.
It sits at the northern edge of the Algarve, in the hills above the coast. The land below has been farmed for centuries, and the fields still grow the sweet potato the place is known for. Time moves slowly here, and it leaves marks.

JecoPalm Office gave us a boutique hotel built for that kind of time. Theirs is a practice of craft, and of the quiet bond between a place and the people.

Waves on the shore, a figure
Wine bottles on the table in the evening light
Dining room with the tall window
Bedroom in warm plaster
We set out to photograph memory itself. Not the building alone, but the life it will hold.

The water, the light, the day letting go, all loosening into the same horizon, where the ocean meets the sky. Aljezur remembers everything and so will they.
